Kindness in a cup.
Born in the cafes of southern Italy, the "caffe sospeso" (which literally means “suspended coffee”) is a tradition in which someone pays in advance for an extra cup or two, which can then be consumed by a coffee-drinker-in-need later in the day.
After Naples, it spread to Bulgaria, where 150 cafés have reportedly established it as a formal scheme. Now, thanks to social networks, it is not just cafés in the US, Russia, Canada, Australia, Asia and Continental Europe that have signed up to the goodwill initiative.
Suspended coffees is a great way to pay it forward. You can buy a warm beverage, or food in advance, for someone in need. Get in touch to take part as a vendor or a participant.Help us reach the world! suspendedcoffee à yahoo.ie
