Citizen groups

Citizen groups are freely formed groups created by individuals, NGOs, and other organisms who have chosen to develop SPIRAL. Their vocation is to become with time and growth territories of coresponsibility of their own.

It is possible to very quickly develop a SPIRAL citizen group, in your neighbourhood, with colleagues at your work, in your NGO. Then use this form to register your newly created group.

How to apply SPIRAL? After your group has been constituted you choose together several homogenous groups to meet, or to participate to, in order to fully represent every part of your group.

What I'll do: ✗ Several meetings with my homogenous groups

Time I'll need: 3 hours per group Materials: ✗ Small Post-its ✗ Paperboard sheets ✗ Pencils, white board markers, paper tape

Who to invite? ✗ Citizens in homogenous groups (refer to spiral method for more info) ✗ Old homogenous groups to meet again

Steps : ✗ I organise a meeting for each homogenous group as defined in Spiral method ✗ I ask the three Spiral questions Q1. What does well-being mean to you? Q2. What does ill-being mean to you? ✗ The answers, written anonymously on post-its, are redistributed among participants and put on the paperboard sheets, one sheet per question, using the SPIRAL codification key and shown to the group for the next question Q3. What do you do or could you do now for the well-being of all? ✗ The answers are again redistributed and put on a sheet using the Spiral codification. ✗ I write the data with their categories in my SPIRAL dashboard on wikispiral.org

Once this done you will quickly see the dimensions which have gained more post-its for each question. Basing on the third question you can then choose actions you can start now. To help you can quickly map resources : every participant writes down, on the list of action, his contact and which resource he wants to give under the action he chooses. The action which receives the most of the support can often be started right then ! As well it is possible (and probably best) to do this meeting with several homogenous groups, in order to share their different concerns and to have more energy to start actions.

This approach provides a quick and efficient way to organise collective decision making helping everybody to contribute. From there you have great value to present to officials in order to ask for support.

You want to participate ? Please register on wikispiral.org and ask to create your group. Then you will have access to all tools and reports that this website provides you, all for free.
